DAWN HOLDER AT ICRC GULDAGERGAARD
Upcoming Exhibition: 6th of July – 19.00 o’clock
Apple House, Guldagergaard
Welcome to this exhibition by Dawn Holder at ICRC Guldagergaard.
The ceramic works of Dawn Holder are the result of 2 residencies in Europe, one spent in Rome and one here at ICRC Guldagergaard in the spring of 2019.
The exhibition is called ”Memory Objects” and reflects thoughts about how we record history in our monuments. Monuments reflect the perspective of those who were in power rather than the multiplicity and diversity of actual lived experience. The sculptures, the installation and the photographs reference the equestrian and obelisk imagery shared by the Roman and the (American) confederate monuments. By deconstructing these iconic forms the artwork of Dawn Holder endeavors to destabilize their message through the lense of fragmentation, decay and rearrangement.
Enjoy the exhibition!
