LUCA TRIPALDI: WHITE GOLD TO WEAR

18-20 MAY 2025

In this course we will create diverse types of necklaces, rings and earrings, using a variety of making and surface techniques for the single elements.

Porcelain is the most suitable clay for making ceramic jewellery. Fired to high temperature it reaches complete vitrification. Of a pure and peculiar white, it feels pleasant on the skin even unglazed.

Students will assemble their elements into unique necklaces; reaching unexpected results as the instructor will show unusual methods of assembly that do not need the use of any ready-made parts (except for the earrings).

About the Teacher
Luca Tripaldi was born in Turin, Italy. Currently he lives in Florence where he has his studio. After training in graphic design, he worked for ten years in many opera houses as a sculptor, making masks and special effects. In 1998 he opened his first own ceramics studio. He uses porcelain, preferring unglazed surfaces. The most part of his jewels are in black or white porcelain, decorated with ceramic transfers or silver.
