Wood Kiln building with Fred Olsen

13th-19th of August.

Guldagergaard will be building a Fast-Fire Wood kiln with Fred Olsen (USA)

This cleaner and more efficient type of wood kiln will reach cone 10 in ca 6 hours – being one of Fred Olsen’s latest and most economical designs.

Fred Olsen is a well-known kiln builder who has equally been active artistically for over 40 years. He often demonstrates kiln building at conferences and workshops around the world and is generally regarded as the authority on kilns. He sells his own designed kiln kits to potters everywhere and is also the author of “The Kiln Book” (first published in 1973). Has built 2 kilns in Guldagergaard’s kiln yard.

Assisting Fred Olsen will be Andres Allik: an Estonian kiln master who is building wood-fire kilns all over the world, he’s also been part of multiple fire sculpture events in the USA and Europe, building and designing the kilns around sculptures.
